“The
Road End”
The
more I travelled, the more I realized… that fear makes strangers as
friends!!!
The
clock hits 6 at morning my day starts, all my routine work is to
heading office by 9:30
and
return up home by 7 in the evening my entire clock was filled with
some other time. At some point fed up with my working hours and I
have questioned myself,
Where
I am?
Why
am here?
Why
am running behind this?
Finally
I have planned for a two days a road trip to someplace. I have
started my Royal Enfield (Himalayan)
which
is made for road travelers. Started packing my clothes by loading my
bag, picking my camera, mobile accessories, lap top, extra batteries
and a separate pair of jean & t-shirt in my back bag. Finally I
have packed all my stuff inside the back bag it was 11
o'clock
when I complete all those packing stuffs. I have to leave for
the trip in the early morning, felt sleepy and dark night welcomes me
for the nice and comfortable sleep. I know it will be a tough day in
the next morning but I managed somehow. Next day, early
by 3 in the morning I wake up and started for making me ready for the
ride, it was a plan to touch the high way by 4 in the morning before
the traffic rushes in the highway.I moved my bike out and cold
started it and left it without throttling, at the time of cold start
i have loaded all my stuff in the bike and made my riding gears fit
comfortable into my body. Started my ride by 3.45
AM
from home here the trip starts.
Filled
up the fuel tank in a regular gas station the man working over there
enquired about my riding gears my trip it was a quite good
conversation. I left the station and started thumping the roads for
the trip. I think I have not said the destination were am going to
travel, may be it would be quit surprise for u guys its
"Kanyakumari"
-the Southern tip of India.
It
was my dream place to do a road trip to that fine wonder full place
since I got my bike. I started heading towards south side from my
home town.
Breakfast
at Madurai (The Temple Town )
Reached
Madurai by 7 in the morning, its 39km a mile stone and felt hungry
while riding. This intimated the sign of Madurai decided to have my
breakfast, it was not planned to have my first stop at Madurai. Kilo
meters passed by I have took a left from the high way and entered
Madurai
city .
The
traffic was heavy and the people were rushing on the road side and
Oh! I wonder… this might be the reason that people named the city
as "Thoonga Nagaram”. Reached the hotel which smelled
delicious and it increased my hunger more-n-more. I have placed my
helmet in a table, removed my riding glows and made me comfortable
.It’s going to be a hot weather outside so I just ordered a set of
dosas and a coffee, it will be good to have less amount of food
before we leave for the whole day ride ...
Completed
my breakfast and turned back to join SH 93. I have crossed typical
hard 230KM from my home town. Crossed few of the wonder full photo
points in the highway meet few more riders in the way and had a
little chat about the plan of their tour, it’s time to refuel my
bike and stopped in a petrol station near by a toll plaza. It’s
almost afternoon and now I have reached the district of Tirunelveli
(Plan is to meet my friend at tirunelveli , but unfortunately he
could not able to join me by the time of ride , we planned to ride
while returning back to home from k.kumari)
It’s
quite hot while entering the district toll plaza where I parked my
bike near by the road side and removed the camp mat from my bike. I
started relaxing myself, by watching the moving vehicles.
After
two hours of rest in that same place, I freshedup and started
continuing my ride towards the southern tip. Back on the high way
started cruising my bike as fast as I can , crossing nearly
367km from my starting point still road extend more than hundred
kilometres from current destination.
Now
it’s literally a hot evening, the sun rays passed through my helmet
visor and UV sunglasses. I have ridden across the windmills, and road
side motel was quite excitement. I got a feel of excitement by
reaching my destination. At a perfect time of sunset I have reached
my destination.
Passed
all over the straight highway, noticed a board of road closed and
diversion for another to reach the town that took me to a small
village which lies across a lake. I could see some of the fisher men
and few guys jumping from the lake bank into the water, the road
rejoined towards a high way.At last after experiencing a tedious
journey there comes a board with a word
"THE
ROAD END"
Parking
my bike direct opposite to the board I could feel mixed emotions of
love, freedom, tiredness and felt happiness from the bottom of my
heart. The view which given this feeling is just wonderful. I have
seen sunset from different places but it is the first time I see it
from the southernmost tip of our county. In front of me I could see
an ocean which swallows the sun ball into it. I took time laps
of sunset in my camera There is no word to express the beauty of the
sunset. From the first day of my travel I was longing to see that
beautiful and everlasting landscape where I struggled hundreds of
kilometers to see this wonderful view.
Day
1 ends with the wonderful sunset at Kanyakumari, When the clock hits
6.30 by the evening it was too dark, I have booked a hotel near
the beach road. Luckily I got a room with a balcony where I enjoyed
the entire view of the ocean where I can see the sunrise of next
lovely morning until then next sunrise I will be waiting to see it .
